Cold winter brings uptick in Delaware fires "You usually see an increase in calls on the third day of cold weather because people are tired and forget to be careful," Pressler said. The station, on Main Street in Christiana, answered over 20 fire calls from Jan. 1 to Jan. 6. They responded to 101 full-house fires in 2017 and 709 lower level fires.
